Project goal
Kontrovers: Das Südtirol von morgen is a Rai Südtirol discussion format built around young voices and the questions shaping the region’s future. Depending on the episode, the conversation moves through identity, tourism, sustainability, agriculture, climate, social change, and the tension between tradition and a changing South Tyrol.
The design challenge was to create a visual identity capable of carrying very different and sometimes divisive topics without making the programme feel heavy or overly institutional. The graphics needed to provide structure and recognisability while leaving the people, their arguments, and the editorial content at the centre.
Creative and technical approach
The broadcast package was developed as a clean, contemporary motion system rather than a collection of isolated graphics. Typography, transitions, on-screen information, and recurring visual elements share the same editorial logic, creating a clear hierarchy and a consistent rhythm across episodes.
The visual direction was intentionally regional without becoming provincial. Instead of relying on obvious South Tyrolean clichés, the package uses a restrained graphic language that feels modern, credible, and flexible enough to accompany very different subjects. The motion system was also designed for recurring production, so new episodes and themes could be integrated without rebuilding the identity each time.
Result
A coherent broadcast identity that gives Kontrovers a strong editorial presence while remaining deliberately neutral toward the debate itself. The package helps the programme move between complex topics with clarity, pace, and visual consistency — keeping the discussion, rather than the design, as the main protagonist.
