Role
Motion Designer / Broadcast Graphic Designer — adaptation of the official event identity for on-air use, animation, compositing, and broadcast finishing.
Project goal
Turn the official Eurovision 2017 visual identity into a concise television announcement for the live broadcasts from Kyiv. The task was not to redesign Eurovision, but to make an already highly recognisable event brand work as clear, energetic on-air communication for a national broadcaster.
Creative and technical approach
The official circular motif becomes the visual engine of the sequence. Its repeated beads, red-and-black pattern, and radial movement create depth and anticipation around the scheduling message, while the surrounding blue space gives the information enough contrast to remain immediately readable.
Motion was designed around the rhythm already present in the identity: rings rotate, expand, and draw attention inward before the broadcast information resolves at the centre. The treatment preserves the scale and excitement associated with Eurovision while keeping the actual message — where and when to watch — direct and functional.
Result
A compact broadcast announcement that feels unmistakably Eurovision without competing with the original brand system. Static identity becomes motion language, and event branding becomes practical television communication.
